Utkarsh

About

I'm Utkarsh, a sophomore at Tesla STEM High School in Redmond, WA. I'm into robotics, AI, hardware, and the intersection of biology and technology — I like building ambitious independent projects rather than just following tutorials. Outside of building things, I play competitive tennis and compete in math (AIME qualifier).

Robotics

I compete in VEX Robotics — currently on team 1523W (VEX V5 Worlds qualifier), and previously on a VEX AI Worlds-qualifying team. I'm both the drive team member and the autonomous programmer on my team, which means I write the code that lets the robot operate on its own during matches (including computer vision work with YOLOv8).

Projects

Myoelectric Prosthetic Claw

A school project where I built a working prosthetic hand controlled by muscle signals (EMG sensors + Arduino), with a custom-designed tendon-driven finger mechanism CAD'd in Onshape.

Community Health Bridge

A nonprofit I co-founded focused on improving health literacy for kids in grades 4–8.

Scanning Tunneling Microscope

An independent hardware build, designing and funding a microscope capable of imaging at the atomic scale.

YIMO (Youth International Math Olympiad)

I'm on the core tech team, handling testing infrastructure and marketing systems for the organization's platform.
